Ace's 1st Halloween

Halloween was great this year! Ace really enjoyed our time at the pumpkin patch. He loved his little pumpkin! He took a nap instead of helping Daddy and Jett carve the pumpkin. Pretty sure everyone was okay with this! Since Momma lost the costume battle, Daddy picked out Ace's costume. I think he did an excellent job! Ace is the cutest Incredible Hulk I've ever seen! He was so good. He didn't even mind the little hat. He was a huge fan of the slick costume material & his bare feet! The combination of the two made his sniper crawl super fast! Ace was a little sad that he could not have some of his brother's candy, but there's always next year. He'll have his own candy & teeth!

Ace's 1st Football Season

This is Ace's first football season. I'm interested to see how it goes. He's already missing his Daddy. We hate it when Daddy has to work so much! Jett made it fine through his first football season, but Ace is a little lot more active. So, we'll see how long we actually get to stay at the games this year:) I'm sure they will be loads of fun! I love the way these pictures turned out!

Where's that football?

6 Months Old

Ace was 6 months old yesterday. We went for his 6 month well-check today. My sweet baby boy is getting so big! He is 28 inches long in the 95th percentile and 18 lbs in the 90th percentile. He did really great at the doctor's office! He smiled & talked to the nurses, and he only cried a little bit when he got his shots. He was much better after Daddy picked him up!

At 6 months, Ace:

  • Rolls from front to back & back to front, especially to get something of Jett's!

  • Sits up by himself, although excitement makes him tip over:)

  • Loves his baby food, especially pears!

  • Loves his paci & can put it in his mouth himself.

  • Can use a beginner sippy cup, anything to be like big brother!

  • Talks all the time & can say Da Da, and even Daddy on occasion.

  • Will reach for Momma, especially if he's sleepy.

  • Loves his big brother & thinks he is the funniest person ever!

  • Loves to gnaw on just about anything, teeth should be here soon.

  • Loves to play cars with Jett.

  • Is so ticklish & has the best laugh!

  • Is a great sleeper, almost always 8 hrs straight:)

  • Loves to bounce in his exersaucer.

  • Gets really frustrated on his tummy because he wants to crawl! Should be just around the corner:)

Ace's 1st Word!

Ace said his 1st word on Friday evening, August 12th! And of course, it was Da Da! We only work on Momma everyday! Now Jett & I are wondering which word will come next...Jett or Momma? Ace loves to talk! He babbles all the time & loves to say Da Da, especially when he gets frustrated. Ace is almost 6 months old, and we are so excited to record all of his milestones! We are curious to see just how big he is at his check up.

More Pictures from Tennessee

Here are more pictures from our time in Clifton. We really did have a great time! I believe we are gonna make this an annual trip. The boys had a blast! I feel bad that I didn't get pictures of everyone. I feel even worse that we only saw Aunt Shon 1 day, and we didn't see Aunt Kendra at all. Unfortunately, not everyone was off work. We are looking forward to Christmas!

Ace loved Grandmother!

Jett was loving on Ace & Grandmother!

The only really GOOD nap the boys took all week!

Ace Meets Mommy's Family

We really enjoyed our trip to Clifton, TN! It was Ace's first time to meet most of Momma's family. Naturally, everyone loved Ace! He was so happy anytime anyone held him. He is such a good baby! All of our cousins took turns making him smile and trying to get him to laugh. It was a really fun time!
Pictures of Claire, Avery, & Madison will be on Jett's blog & there are more pictures to come on Ace's. I do apologize though, I have no pictures of Aunt Cindy, Uncle Byron, Granddaddy, Uncle Mark, Aunt Shon, William, Uncle Myles, Aunt Kendra, or Jon Nathan. I will do better at Christmas!!!

Addison held Ace as often as she could! He's nearly as big as she is!

Ace loved Mawmaw! She was good at making him laugh.

4 Months

Ace is 4 months old now! I can hardly believe it & yet I can. He's such a big boy! We went for his 4 month well-check last Thursday. The shots were horrible as expected. It gets worse the older they are! The good news is that he's growing like an all star! He was 16 lbs 6 oz in the 80th percentile & 26 1/4 in long in the 90th percentile. Ace rolls from front to back regularly, puts weight on his arms & holds his head up, loves the independence of sitting up in his bumbo seat & to stand and spin in his bouncy exersaucer. He likes brief moments lying on Leo, his lion (Thank you Aunt Winnie!), loves playing with his redbird, LOVES playing & talking with big brother, Jett, loves when Daddy flies him like an airplane, & loves when Momma holds him. We are enjoying watching him grow!
Ace's 3 month pictures will be coming soon! They were so good. I can't wait to show them off!

Ace looks so much like Jett in this pic.

Such a big boy!

Ah, independence.

Ace would prefer to never wear clothes!

Orange Beach

We took our first family vacation to Orange Beach. It was the first time Ryan and I have been on vacation with either of our kids. We've done short weekend trips to sporting events, but nothing major. Driving 6 hours with 2 children 2 & under is not something I recommend doing often! It was long! I'm so glad that we picked a condo with a lazy river, kiddie pool, water slide, spray area, and 2 large pools. The lazy river and spray area were super! Ace spent a lot of time sleeping on Momma under a large umbrella. He really enjoyed his trip to the beach! He must have liked the feel of the sand under his blanket. Overall, it was a pretty fun trip!

Ready to swim!

Rolling Over

Ace reached his first major milestone on May 11th. He rolled from his tummy to his back! We were so excited! He's done it 3 times so far. He still hasn't rolled from his back to tummy yet, but it shouldn't be too far away! Ace is getting so big!

So happy (which is rare in his car seat)!

Sweet boy!

Ace's 1st Easter

These pictures were taken at our church egg hunt. I was so thankful for my friend Andi who took these pictures of Ace. There was no way I could chase Jett & hold Ace. Ace was so good! He didn't cry at all.
The next Sunday was our Baby Celebration at church. Once a year, our congregation celebrates the new babies born. Ace wore a light blue smocked outfit to receive his Bible. He was precious! It was the same outfit that big brother wore. The Elders' wives prepared a wonderful meal for us, and we had a nice time.
