Orange Beach

We took our first family vacation to Orange Beach. It was the first time Ryan and I have been on vacation with either of our kids. We've done short weekend trips to sporting events, but nothing major. Driving 6 hours with 2 children 2 & under is not something I recommend doing often! It was long! I'm so glad that we picked a condo with a lazy river, kiddie pool, water slide, spray area, and 2 large pools. The lazy river and spray area were super! Ace spent a lot of time sleeping on Momma under a large umbrella. He really enjoyed his trip to the beach! He must have liked the feel of the sand under his blanket. Overall, it was a pretty fun trip!

Rolling Over

Ace reached his first major milestone on May 11th. He rolled from his tummy to his back! We were so excited! He's done it 3 times so far. He still hasn't rolled from his back to tummy yet, but it shouldn't be too far away! Ace is getting so big!

So happy (which is rare in his car seat)!

Ace's 1st Easter

These pictures were taken at our church egg hunt. I was so thankful for my friend Andi who took these pictures of Ace. There was no way I could chase Jett & hold Ace. Ace was so good! He didn't cry at all.
The next Sunday was our Baby Celebration at church. Once a year, our congregation celebrates the new babies born. Ace wore a light blue smocked outfit to receive his Bible. He was precious! It was the same outfit that big brother wore. The Elders' wives prepared a wonderful meal for us, and we had a nice time.

2 months

Ace was 2 months old last Friday. We went for his 2 month well-check today. Ace weighed 13 lbs 6 oz in the 90th percentile and was 23 1/2 inches long in the 75th percentile. He is such a big boy! Ace has been smiling & laughing. He has the cutest dimples, one on each cheek. He's pretty happy these days. He likes to sit in his car seat & play with his redbird. He laughs when he makes contact with it! He also likes his swing with the dangling bug. Big brother Jett makes him laugh on occasion. Ace likes his room too! He's a good eater and sleeper. He's eating about 5 oz per feeding these days, and he's gone 6 hours in between feedings one night & 10 hours another night! Momma has been getting a lot more rest! Ace loves bath time too! He smiles & coos when we pour water on him. We are watching closely for his 1st roll over. He seems to be getting close!

Ace's Newborn Pictures

We got Ace's newborn pictures taken last Thursday. He was 4 weeks & 2 days old. 2 days older than Jett was in his newborn pictures. Ace was really good! He was trying to look at everything. It was actually hard to get him to look toward the camera. We were able to get some good shots though. It was even harder to get a good picture of both boys together! They turned out cute if not perfect.

This one's my favorite!

1st Well Check

Ace went for his 2 week well check on March 14th. He was really 2 weeks and 6 days old. He did great! He was 9 lb 15 oz in the 75th percentile and 21 inches in the 50th percentile. He's a big boy! He really likes to eat. In fact, 48 hours after we were discharged from the hospital, he had already gained 9 oz! We are curious to know if Ace will end up being as tall as big brother Jett! We will see.

Ace Tyler Ivey

We had our new baby, Ace, on February 22, 2011 at 5:39 pm. He weighed 7 lb 13 oz & was 20 in long. He looked a lot like big brother, Jett, when he was born. Ace is a little darker and has darker reddish brown hair. Right now his eyes are dark blue, and I'm pretty sure they will remain blue since Momma & Daddy both have blue eyes. Ace was welcomed to the world by Momma, Daddy, Jett, G, Opa, Uncle Indy, Pop, and Polly. Dr. McAlpine did a fantastic job!
